Waves Smack Attack gives you detailed control over the attack and sustain of drums, percussion, loops, synth hits, guitars, vocals, and other transient-rich sounds. Boost the initial impact of a snare, tighten a ringing tom, bring out the pick attack of an acoustic guitar, or soften an overly aggressive percussion transient—all without relying on traditional compression.

Its flexible transient-shaping engine lets you customize the level, shape, and duration of the attack, while independent sustain control makes it easy to tighten sounds or bring out room ambience and decay. A Sensitivity control provides selective processing, while the real-time graphic display makes it easy to see exactly how your settings are affecting the signal.

For more creative processing, Smack Attack includes parallel processing, MIDI control, and a built-in limiter/clipper, allowing anything from subtle corrective shaping to aggressive, punchy effects.
