Eventide’s Temperance Pro introduces a sophisticated modal architecture to the professional signal chain. Moving beyond the limitations of traditional algorithmic or convolution-based processing, Temperance Pro utilizes patented machine learning to model physical space as a collection of thousands of independent resonators.
By operating on the 12-note chromatic scale, the engine treats every frequency as a musical entity. This allows engineers and sound designers to determine exactly which notes "bloom" and which "fade" within a room, resulting in a reverb that doesn't just sit behind a mix—it harmonizes with it.

Targeted Tempering: Achieve surgical spatial precision by choosing when the tempering occurs. Target the Early reflections for immediate character, the Late tail for evolving harmonic blooms, or All for total immersion.

Note Width & Dispersal: Determine the spread of note energy within the modal field. Low values produce pure, resonant musicality; higher settings disperse energy for rich, chorused textures.

Dynamic Performance Modes: Take manual control via the note-roll interface, use the internal Sequencer to follow complex chord progressions, or play the reverb in real-time via MIDI to treat the space as a live instrument.
Modal Manipulation Parameters
Temperance Pro offers unique tools for shaping ambiance that are physically impossible in the traditional reverb domain:

Density: Scale the active modes from 100% (full density) down to fragmented, lo-fi textures.

Offset: Reposition the entire acoustic space by shifting the center frequencies of all modes by up to $\pm$500Hz.

Position: Dynamically adjust the perceived listening distance from the source, working in tandem with the Target selection to focus the listener's perspective.
