Circuit Design

The TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik recreation of the U47 is electronically true to the original circuit except for the use of the VF14K, a plug-and-play replacement for the extremely rare VF14 vacuum tube. The new production U47 also features an American-made mylar M7 capsule, an American-made BV8 output transformer, premium electrolytic and polystyrene capacitors, and precision film resistors. The seemingly simple circuit showcases a perfect balance of all elements of the design, highlighting its brilliance. 

Construction

The TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik U47 recreation is adorned in the classic styling of early, so-called “long body” U47’s; with a chrome headgrille and matte nickel-plated body. All hardware and mechanical parts are machined to vintage specifications in order to be cross compatible with original examples. The component layout and wiring scheme are nearly identical to originals, as well. The classic TELEFUNKEN Diamond logo is proudly riveted to the front of every body tube.
