The Sontronics SATURN is a highly versatile condenser mic with five polar patterns, developed in association with award-winning producers
SONTRONICS SATURN multi-pattern condenser mic
From its humble beginnings as a straightforward vocal microphone, the Sontronics SATURN evolved into something truly special thanks to ear-testing in development with Grammy award-winning producers Alan Moulder and Flood (U2, Nine Inch Nails, The Foals, Editors). Rather than limit testing to just one sound source, Flood tried the mic with everything in the studio. It was soon obvious that the Sontronics SATURN had the potential to outperform many other mics on various sound sources, providing marvelously detailed, refined results regardless of what it was put up in front of. Enormously versatile, the Sontronics SATURN features five polar patterns, a 3-stage pad and high-pass filter, with a tube-like sound that makes vocals and instruments shine.

Sontronics SATURN-Behind the Grille
The retro-styled SATURN, whose design was inspired by classic vocal mics of the 1940s and ’50s, brings a new level of performance to modern condenser microphones. After meticulous rounds of ear-testing and development by top producers and musicians, today’s SATURN features five polar patterns, including omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-eight, plus hypercardioid and Sontronics own sub-cardioid. It also has variable attenuation (0, -10dB, -20dB) and high-pass filter (linear, 75Hz, 125Hz)-everything you need for total flexibility in the studio.
With its comprehensive control capabilities and multiple patterns, the SATURN is remarkably versatile, with the ability to provide phenomenal results an a wide variety of sound sources. A desert island mic for both amateur and professional, the SATURN excels on vocals, spoken word, guitars, brass, woodwind, strings, piano, drums, ethnic instruments, ensembles, overhead, room miking, and pretty much anything else you care to throw in front of it.
Aesthetically speaking, SATURN captures all sources with the highest degree of accuracy, faithfully preserving the natural characteristics of the sound source, with the added sense of being in the room with the performers. Sounds captured by SATURN will sit unobtrusively, yet subtly present in any mix (digital or analog), allowing you to exercise your creative urges, or keep it real-whatever the music and your personal taste dictate, without limitation.
The SATURN comes with Sonntronics’ unique shockmount, which is designed to isolate the mic from any noise or vibrations that might be transmitted through the microphone stand. It also comes with a rugged aluminum flight case and of course, Sontronics no-hassle Lifetime Warranty.

What the pros are saying about the Sontronics SATURN
"SATURN is my go-to mic at the moment. It is so versatile and incredibly detailed and clear but without getting too bright. It really does sound good on everything.” -ED HARCOURT, Songwriter/Producer
"I love SATURN on vocals – it brings a warm clarity that I just can't get with a U87. The SATURN just sit perfectly without the need for extra EQ after the fact. The way SATURN looks is a massive positive. If they say the first bite is with the eye, then the SATURN is delicious!"-CAREY WILLETTS, Musician-Producer
