PRESIDENT / OWNER
President/Owner, Director of Acoustic/System Design
“What you like in your ear is what makes me mix better.” — Dave Pensado, Grammy-winning mix engineer
Professional Audio Design founder and president, Dave Malekpour is as hands-on as it gets, starting out as a musician who achieved radio play, then transitioning to the other side of the glass as an engineer. Sensing the trends in pro audio, Dave turned his talents to system integration, providing installation services for restaurants, retail businesses (such as the multi-national clothier, Urban Outfitters), and recording studios.
It was in the studio world where Malekpour found the work the most intriguing. In January of 1993, Dave shifted the focus of his business to service-based pro audio sales. Not just limited to studio design (if you call that limited) and integration,
Dave’s expertise also extends to studio monitor design, havingreintroduced Augspurger monitors to the recording world with his own design improvements. Dave personally tunes every pair of Augspurger monitors sold to clients, which include Grammy winning engineers such as Dave Pensado and Rafa Sardina. That’s the kind of “above and beyond” you can expect from Pro Audio Design’s Dave Malekpour and his team.
With a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bridgewater State and an associates degree in audio production from the New England Institute of Art, Dan Jacobvitz is PAD’s Sales Coordinator.
Says Russound’s Brad Page, “I've worked with a lot of people over the years, but Dan really stands out. He's got energy, spirit, and drive, but he also has a classic work ethic that you rarely see these days. Day in, day out, he gets the work done. I can count the number of people on one hand who I could rely on like Dan, he's worth his weight in gold.”
