The Amphion Amp500 is a Class D, 2x 500-watt-per-channel stereo amplifier with virtually no distortion, specifically designed to complement the Amphion One18, Two15, and Two18 for larger control rooms.
The Amphion Amp500 is a custom Class D power amplifier that’s designed specifically to complement the clear, natural sound of Amphion’s One18. Two15, and Two18 series of studio monitors for large control rooms. Packing 500 watts of power per channel, the Amp500 stereo amplifier features Anaview’s patented AMS (adaptive modulation servo) amplifier technology, which corrects nonlinearities. With high-grade electronics and precision manufacturing, the Amp500 evokes the best performance from Amphion speakers, revealing all the clarity, depth, and consistency expected from an amplifier with the Amphion name. Amphion’s Amp500 provides amplification at its best; free of distortion and background noise, ensuring transparency and musicality for the most accurate mixing and mastering results.

Amphion Amp500—Under the Hood
AMS (adaptive modulation servo) amplifier technology
Amphion’s founder, Anssi Hyvönen in his search for an amplifier that would complement the transparency and musicality of Amphion speakers found that the Anaview AMS1000 was the only Class D amplifier he heard that didn’t sound sterile. And so, a collaboration was born, resulting in the Amphion AMP500. It’s an integrated audio solution that combines high-end amplifier and power supply technology. It’s capable of delivering 2x500 watts into 2 ohms @1%THD, 2x330 watts into 4 ohms @1%THD, or 900 watts into 4 ohms in bridged mode.
The Amp500 features Anaview’s patented AMS (adaptive modulation servo) architecture, which corrects nonlinearities in parallel with the class D stage itself. The technology offers wide, 1st-order bandwidth and 0.05% THD+N at rated power—and a truly first-class-listening experience.
PAD Pro tech note: BTL is an acronym for "bridge-tied load," also referred to simply as bridged mono. Bridged mode refers to the combining or “bridging” of two amplifier channels into a single channel. The primary reason for doing this is to achieve a single channel with much greater output power. When two channels are bridged, the combined single channel will output up to two times the voltage and as such, four times the power of a single non-bridged channel. In practice, the actual output power achieved is limited by the capability of the power supply as well as the ability of the amplifier to dissipate the increased heat, which is four times that of a non-bridged channel at the same supply voltage.
Who’s using Amphion?
Amphion has become the go-to monitoring solution for A-list mixers, producers, engineers, and producers, including the venerable Bruce Swedien (Thriller), Grammy-winner Dave Pensado (Beyoncé, Maroon 5), Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Nora Jones), Grammy-winner Dave Reitzas (Madonna, Seal), BAFTA award-winning composer, Jasper Kyd; Jack Joseph Puig (The Black Crowes, John Mayer); and many more.
The overall design philosophy and aesthetic of Amphion’s founder, Anssi Hyvönen, is that monitors should reproduce music in all its natural splendor and beauty without adding or removing anything—just the pure and simple truth of what you’ve recorded or mixed. To achieve this goal, Amphion has spent considerable effort developing technologies that provide an honest representation of program material, beginning with audiophile speakers.
Whether you are composing, tracking, mixing, or mastering, the Amphion studio monitors enable you to work faster and achieve premium results. These transparent and elegantly-truthful studio monitors are perfectly balanced, and easily respond to any acoustic environment, personal taste, or music genre.
